Workshops

We had a fantastic class of beginner glass enthusiasts this month learning all the intricacies of fusing and slumping. With a visiting parliamentarian and a birthday celebration the class was full of joy and creativity. The result was a lot of fun and eight gorgeous platters to send home with the students.

In The Workshop

Earlier this year, we were given the opportunity to restore a stunning stained glass window as part of the foyer upgrade at Australia Place in central Perth. This masterpiece, originally crafted by the renowned South Australian contemporary stained-glass artist, Cedar Prest, was installed in 1982.

Despite being relatively young, most of the panels needed some work, especially in terms of cementing. Matching the broken glass presented its challenges, but thanks to our extensive collection of Lamberts Antique glass, we were able to skilfully plate together two pieces, achieving both the desired opacity and colour.

For nearly two decades, these magnificent windows were concealed from the public eye behind closed doors. But now, they've been unveiled for all to admire! If you find yourself in the heart of the city, make sure to stop by the Australia Place foyer and soak in the beauty of these meticulously restored works of art.
